Many years ago, the life of sailors wasn't easy. These men sailed for months before they reached another country, and there wasn't anything to look at except water. But one good thing was the ship's
cat. Every ship had a cat to chase away mice. Sailors enjoyed having a pet with them during their long journeys.
One cat who traveled around the world was called Trim.

The captain of Trim's ship was Matthew Flinders - he was the first man to sail around Australia . Flinders loved Trim
He even let Trim eat at the table with him. One day, Trim
fell into the sea and nearly drowned , but Flinders rescued him.
Trim and Flinders had many adventures together at the sea.
